- Mid-range zoom for landscapes and scenes
- Wide lens for lodge and scenery
Power & storage
- Spare batteries (2+)
- Battery charger and travel adaptor
- Memory cards (multiple, tested)
- Card reader or laptop for backup
Support & care
- Beanbag for vehicle support
- Lens cloth and blower
- Dust protection / rain cover
- Padded camera bag / insert
Phone photography
- Phone charged with backup power bank
- Cleaning cloth
- Consider a small clip-on lens
Ethical photography
- Follow guide instructions on distance and vehicle position
- No flash for nocturnal wildlife unless the guide confirms
- Do not share real-time GPS locations of rhino or endangered wildlife
- Respect staff and other guests when photographing at the lodge
